Tips for Your Engagement Session

So you are now officially engaged, and won’t stop staring at that gorgeous ring of yours! So now it’s time to celebrate this season of love and new beginnings with your engagement session! We live for engagement sessions! There is just something extra special about being newly engaged that makes skies more vibrant and birds chip more melodically. We believe your engagement session should be a memorable experience you can return to as the stresses of wedding planning begin to weigh heavy throughout the year. That is why we included tips below that can help make this the best experience possible!

Location

Choosing a location doesn’t need to be complicated! Locations that tell a story and connect to your wedding are wonderful choices. The Korakia Pensione and Joshua Tree National Park scream boho wedding while Mission San Juan Capistrano and the olive groves at Highland Springs Ranch & Inn give you a romantic and mediterranean feel.  Some couples choose to return to the place they got engaged or a place that holds meaning to them such as the alma mater they met at or the beach they spent that special summer at. Meaningful locations are also great to return to for future family or anniversary portraits. Rest assured we will help you choose the perfect location for your engagement session!

Attire

We encourage combining neutrals and textures in your outfits to complement our light and airy photography style. Neutrals are timeless and will resonate well throughout the years to come. To make things even more simple, we have an engagement session style guide we provide you to help you choose the best outfits.

What to bring

Fresh florals are always a great addition to an engagement session and give you something to hold. Champagne and flutes are a MUST in our book! Who doesn’t love a classic champagne pop photo?

Relax

Take a deep breath and relax because you are in good hands. We will guide you throughout the entire session. You are not alone! This is a great opportunity for us to get to know each other and learn how to work together. We believe it’s so important to get to know your photographers and this is the best opportunity to do so.
